For nurses working long shifts, it’s not always easy to break away for a meal. Even if there’s time, it might be difficult to find a healthy food option that keeps your energy up.
Experts at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have made finding healthy snacks for work easy by creating a new infographic.
“A healthy snack has about 100-200 calories and includes an unrefined carbohydrate and a protein,” said Mary Ellen Herndon, a wellness dietitian at MD Anderson. “Pairing these two together will help you stay full longer and keep you energized.”
An added bonus? The snacks outlined below are also full of cancer-fighting nutrients.
