Some men shy away from the nursing field because of the perception that nursing is a female-dominated field. But, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, “the proportion of male registered nurses has more than tripled since 1970, from 2.7 percent to 9.6 percent, and the proportion of male licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses has more than doubled from 3.9 percent to 8.1 percent.” READ MORE

Professor Tina Pettus had the opportunity to take 17 Chamberlain students to assist with the intake of students for the Florida Youth Challenge Academy. Our students were responsible for taking health and social histories, vital signs, BMI, vision and lice screenings and urine pregnancy testing on approximately 200 young men and women. Their assistance was greatly appreciated by the staff of FLYCA and helped make the process much more efficient.
